hey JOY and JOY...and everyone else! i'm SO relieved that i'm done with 2 finals, however, i still have another one on fri... i should be studying right now, but i felt like blogging real quick....

my asian am class started yesterday, but i wasn't able to go because i had finals, so today was my first day! wow...my prof is cool, he tops the profs i've had so far because he's pretty funny. the class seems like it's going to be interesting and easy. the final is not even comprehensive...whoo hoo!..haha. but the bad thing is that we have a 2 page paper due on monday and a midterm next friday. =X doesn't seem so bad though... what we first talked about was Asian Pacific Cultural Values. considering the class was 85% asian, most of us related to them. i, for the most part, related to the topic of "education is highly valued" because a lot us do many things just to please our parents. parents expect us to do well in school, get good grades, etc. i mean we are doing that for ourselves, but for the main part, i think, is because of our parents. -"math, science, engineering majors are highly valued" they sure are! hmmm....then he went to the topic of how parents don't want their children to go away to college, they want their children to live at home so they could see them EVERYDAY...etc. he asked "how many of you had to stay in SD because your parents didn't want you to move out?" omg, i so raised my hand!!! well, i kinda did want to stay in SD, but i wanted to live on campus so it's kinda the same. and no surprise....that didn't happen. and moving out is not an option right now...hopefully it will be sooooon. =/ after that discussion we watched part of a documentary called "slaying the dragon" which i have to write about. it's about the film roles of asian american women in various decades...pretty interesting stuff. oh yea..i didn't think i was going to know anyone in my class, but there are several people in there that i know! and i also saw some old HS friends... =)

well, i must go read and then study for my final. whoo hoo! joy's coming! joy's coming! =) take care kids...
